Jackson Owen

A new composer and fresh out of high school, Jackson Owen is a Waco native and a Midway High choir alum. Growing up in a musical household, he has always been around the piano and singing. So he found a way to do that in high school choir. There he learned different styles of music and how each genre was composed, conducted, and conveyed. Taking notes from that, he started composing. Throughout high school choir, he was given opportunities to sing, audition, play the piano, and conduct. Jackson has received recognitions and awards such as being a three-time Texas All-Stater, Director’s Awards, and Outstanding Performer at TSSEC. Jackson plans to attend college and get a bachelor’s in music education and aspires to further his education to teach and compose music.
