Dawson Akers

Dawson Akers is a composer whose work blends Romantic, contemporary, and cinematic influences to create emotionally resonant, genre-defying music. He is studying with Dr. Thomas Couvillon at Eastern Kentucky University. Drawing inspiration from a wide array of musical traditions and styles, Dawson's compositions evoke powerful imagery and portray complex narratives. Known for his Romantic period inspiration, musical storytelling, and varied instrumentation, his music has been featured in an award-winning short film and has earned him the recognition of a Certificate of Music from the National Society of Arts and Letters and multiple finalist positions in international composition competitions. Through his work, Dawson strives to inspire, challenge, and connect with listeners worldwide.
